Tatashe is also known as Romano peppers or Red Romano chile peppers.  Red romano peppers are a preferred substitute for Bell Peppers due to their sweet flavourful taste.

Though from the same family as the Bell peppers, it has distinct features. It has a mild heat compared to chillis like ata rodo, however, it is not as large as Bell peppers that are grown within greenhouses and are referred to as sweet Bell peppers. Nigerian Tatase as pronounced by others comes in a distinct red color with an elongated shape not too large compared to sweet Bell peppers.
